Welcome to Thakeham Primary School
Thank you for showing an interest in our school and viewing our website
As Headteacher at Thakeham I am privileged to have the opportunity to work with everyone connected with our school to ensure our small, caring, happy school is a really special place to learn and grow together. We focus on each individual child’s needs, developing their skills and nurturing their talents within a strong family environment.

The school lies at the heart of our beautiful village and recognises the importance of strong community links as well as links with the wider world. Our school was built in 1875, and is Grade II listed.  We have the best of both worlds, a historic building, rooted proudly and successfully in the past, and creative, engaging learning experiences in a child-centred environment, designed to foster the skills and attitudes needed for life-long learning, enabling them to approach the challenges of an ever changing world, with confidence and resilience.

Our facilities include three classrooms, and a recently refurbished hall, in which we have a wide range of PE and music equipment. Our school grounds, including our garden and wildlife pond are used to support and enrich our curriculum.  We have access to a fantastic sports field which is used for a wide range of sporting activities. Also situated on the field is a community allotment which the school plays a key role in maintaining, further developing our hands-on approach to learning. We also have a library, a Computing Suite and both internal and external play areas.

As well as meeting national expectations, our curriculum is personalised to meet the needs of our children in our community. Our curriculum and class pages provide details of this and there are a range of different opportunities planned to welcome parents to Thakeham to share and celebrate children’s achievements and encourage you to take an active part in your child’s learning and in the life of the school.
Our continued success as a school relies on all of us working together as one team for the benefit of the children.
Please contact the school office on 01798 812 133 or by email office@thakehamfs.co.uk  to arrange an appointment.
